Hello! I am a webcam model at ImLive and I want to create my own independent website but I have no idea where to start or how certain things operate since the website I already work on does all that for you. The major thing is that, how can I design my own website? Not a blog but more of a website where you can surf around for pics and videos. Is there a company out there that does this or do I have to do this on my own?

As for design you have two choices, either buy it or get it for free. The cost of good design is around $800 which is pretty expensive. So much better option is go for free one and then customize it a little bit to make it more personal. Our service includes helping you to find design that you like and customize it by putting your header image, changing background colors, fonts, etc. And also any aspect of running your own web site is very easy to learn. Like adding new pages, creating photo galleries, embedding images – you can do it all yourself!

Diana, you should try to hire a wordpress freelancer on freelancer.com and get a wordpress site modified to be your site…wordpress is ea sy to use, seo friendly and inexpensive to get it done….hope that helps

This is very cool… I’ve always wanted to do web-cam work but have always been hesitant because the cam sites record, sell, and distribute all of my private chats and videos. The fact that I can own the rights to all of my videos and pictures as an independent cammer is great.

The only thing that I wonder about is the income potential. This girl seems very cool, and obviously does well, but she’s been doing it for so long and has built up lots of clients that it’s hard to get a realistic idea of what it will be like… Can anyone give me an idea? Amount of hours per day that I should start with? What I should set my per-minute price as? etc. etc.

Thanks!

Well, if you’re going to go independent route you’ll see no money at the beginning. You’ll have to put a good effort the first few months in order to start getting descent traffic to your site. I would say you’ll have to spend 8-10 hours a week on writing content for your site ans promoting it all around the internet. But once you get this traffic, the income potential is unlimited. You’ll be able to sell not only cam shows, but also pictures, custom videos, make money with affiliate links, wish lists, etc. It’s up to you what price you set. As long as you have loyal fan base around your site they’ll be willing to pay the price you name.

Hi, I would like to know how I can copyright website content besides having the ‘c’ logo and “all right reserved” on the bottom of the page so that if someone does try to steal my website I can take legal actions for it. Do I get a lawyer and tell him to copyright right it and register it for me? How do other independent cam girls get their rights to their site?

Hi Lauren, I would suggest working about 8-10 hours a day and try to keep a routine schedule at first. Then make sure to sign up to as many social networks as possible so that your followers from the big sites will see your notice when you launch your site.
As far as price per minute that really depends on what kind of shows you are producing. Join a site as a member and compare yourself to others i the industry.

Hi Diane, to your question about copyright, unfortunately there are many people who will steal your content. So you may want to familiarize yourself with some forums that share stolen content. If you find our videos or pictures on a share ware site you contact the host and prove its yours and they will then remove it.
If it is another site bashing you or using your content then your host providers lawyers have a process for that.
Both of these situations have happened to me, but if you have your own site/domain like I do my Host Provider have the lawyers on hand to get the content removed and that’s included in your hosting package.

Good luck to both of you!
