Tips On Cam Girl Site’s Home Page

by Alex Shwarz on March 10, 2009 · 8 comments

I’ve noticed that many cam girls that have their own sites make one big mistake. On the home page of their site there is very little info. In most cases it’s just their picture, adult content disclaimer and Enter/Exit buttons. Here are  some examples that I found:

http://www.malayataylor.com/
http://www.ladyanita.com/
http://www.indycamchick.com/

… and many more others.

If you really care about visitors who come from search engines you should put as much information about yourself as you can on the home page. Obviously it shouldn’t be adult content like pictures and videos. The most important thing is to put as much text as you can. Plus teaser pictures and videos.

Search engines like Google pay much attention to the home page of the site, especially to text, because people search in the Internet using the text. So, no matter how much text you have on other pages of your site, if you have very little on home page, search engines will not take your site seriously.

Here are examples of cam girl site that have pretty good home page that search engines like:

http://www.teaseandsleaze.com/

Look how much text it has. So if you go to Google now and search for “beautiful tattooed pussy” (put it in quotes) you’ll see this model’s site comes up. It should be clear that this model gets much more traffic from search engines than other models’ sites listed above.

Of course it’s not the only thing you should do for your site to get visitors from search engines (search engine traffic). But this is the very first thing you should do for your site.

The whole idea behind the adult content warning is to be a warning, not an advertisement. This is self explanatory. There are other ways to have key words recognized by search engine crawlers. Responsible webmasters will not expose unsuspecting visitors or children to mature content without a warning! If you are marketing your site on specific forums or directories intended for adults, you can point your banner or link to a page beyond the index/home/warning page.

Thanks for the critique and free advert!

I didn’t mean to expose adult content on the main page. The point is to have home page filled with a lot of relevant text that includes keywords. Search engine crawlers can access text in any page of your site. But if they find almost nothing on home page the ranking of your site goes the way down. You can show adult content warning once visitor tries to access any other page with adult content. I was really impressed that you responded so fast 😉

Come on, Alex! That’s not an index / main page. There is NO warning there!
If I would be a kid I would not leave but start to click some more around that page. Be serious! A website with such a main page will never be approved by ASACP, RTA, and serious adult payment processing companies!
I am totally agree with Lorraine (indycamchick). Plus, I think smart girl would use her webmaster skills to create a re-directing of that index page or to demand crawlers how to treat that page using the robots.txt file. There are many ways of making great use of your main page while taking as much advantage out of it.
One last thing: the ” mistake” as u call it is used by adult website monsters like Ifriends, Imlive, Webcams, Naked and so many others. 😉

By index (home) page I mean the page that shows up when you type just domain name. I’m not saying not to have a warning. You should definitely have it. Just add some more text content beside the warning. For example some introduction of yourself that contains main keywords and non-nude picture. No matter what tricks you can do through robots.txt, search engines have special treatment for the home page.

Yes, Alex! I was talking about the index (home ) page. Beside a nice design there are more important things to consider when building that page.
For law and other purposes: You need to have a clear state about the content. Page needs to have a state about 18.usc as visible as possible, a Flesch score ( easy readability with short and clear phrases) around 60 to 70. Also a Flesch Kincaid Grade Level of or under 7.0 ( e.g. a score of 7.0 means that a typical 7th grade student (12 yrs old) should be able to understand the document). Flashing content should be avoid or able to be controlled by mouse click ( can trigger seizures in people with certain types of epilepsy).
For SEO optimization: You need to have over 200 words, perfect if more than 500. Density of certain words matters too. So are the frames, colors, flashing content, scripts and the % of images displayed.
All these being said, for an adult website index page can only be a warning content one. And should look neat and eyes friendly, not kids friendly or stroking friendly. That’s my point of view as a webmaster and responsible adult content provider.
